The world is facing a challenging time, uniting us in the fight against this virus. That is certainly true of our team at Excel Packaging, who are currently working just as hard as ever—many from home—to do their part in flattening the curve locally and abroad. We are all working together to ensure the spread slows down.
We are taking enhanced safety measures to keep our office infection-free. Long before our current crisis, we had adopted WELL Building Standard™ (WELL™) aimed at improving the personal health, happiness and well-being of our staff. A key aspect of the WELL protocol concentrates on cleaning procedures and frequency, high touch surfaces, entrances, and documentation. The few people who have to pop in for essential tasks are able to do their jobs safely and efficiently while they’re there.
In this way, our engineering team is able to keep sizing for new projects and quality processes functioning at the same high level, with an eye on continuous improvement. Our pre-press team similarly has been maintaining an exceptional level of processing speed and quality, ensuring projects are sent to our printer ready to print just as expected. And, in South Korea, our manufacturing facility has been doing stringent monitoring and testing, with zero incidents.
Even during this time, when everything feels like it’s on hold, we are taking active steps to help our customers grow. We are developing new products for traditional distribution and to address our customers’ eCommerce needs. Additionally, thanks to our virtual capabilities with our global supply chain for several years prior, customers can still count on our weekly status updates and our shipping finished product on schedule.
A lot of this is possible for us, not only thanks to our great team of dedicated professionals here in Southern California but also thanks to the great collaboration between our team here and our team in South Korea. Both of our teams are already used to and very effective at communicating through tools like Zoom, which we’ve been using regularly since 2017! Now we’ve applied those skills to our SoCal office to keep working together, from different locations. There has been a smooth transition allowing almost all of our team to work from home and maintain the same level of service our customers have come to expect from Excel Packaging.
