The team at Excel Packaging is a group of hardworking packaging professionals. Every now and then, we’ll take some time away from the office to enjoy nature and some social time together. We recently took an afternoon to enjoy the California sun and take some pups with us on a nice walk in Laguna Niguel Regional Park.
Laguna Niguel Regional Park is one of the many wonderful parks run by OC Parks. Laguna Niguel Regional Park’s 227 acres of lush grass and native California wildlife surround a 44-acre lake, which is regularly stocked with catfish, bass, and trout (during the winter months only) (source). The park also features bike trails, picnic shelters, restrooms, tennis courts, and even a regulation horseshoe pit.
We decided to take a 2-mile walk around the beautiful lake, accompanied by Pepper, our office mascot, and Production Artist Julia Montroy’s adorable pup named Lex. It was a hot summer day, with temperatures in the mid-80’s. Luckily, we got to enjoy the cool breeze coming in over the lake and the shade of the large sycamore and eucalyptus trees that line the lake. While we strolled around the lake, we enjoyed seeing all the wildlife including plenty of scurrying squirrels and lizards baking in the sun.
The group had a great time getting some fresh air together. Afterward, we shared a meal and drank some cool beverages to combat the summer heat. We all agreed this should be a new company tradition that inspires healthy habits, team bonding, and creative thinking. It’s just another reason Excel Packaging is such a great place to work.
